Happy Birthday, Milton Keynes!

What can I say that could rightly honour the city that raised me, gave me the best start in life, and then allowed me to represent it in Parliament?

58 years ago today, Milton Keynes as a new town was born. From there, it has gone from strength to strength. Today, it is a growing city, with an economy bigger than Oxford and Cambridge combined, that attracts major companies to set up their headquarters and leads in innovation.

And among all the new is the old - the vast heritage, the historic towns and villages, and the traditions.

As we look to build a new generation of new towns, Milton Keynes is a beacon of what can grow and flourish from these roots.

Thank you, Milton Keynes, for all you have given me. It is a honour to serve giving back to the place that I call home.
